B-eautiful Wood Letters!

 

Useful as a monogram, as wall decor, or just to make a statement — these handsome wood letters will help you spell out the perfect message!

Read on for supplies needed and full instructions on how to make this “B’.

Supplies Needed:

• Acrylic Paint:
– White
– Sky Blue
-Black
• Acrylic Antiquing Medium:
– Down Home Brown
• Paper plate for paint palette
• Tooth brush
• 1/2″ flat brush
• Sandpaper
• Cotton cloth or rag 

Instructions:

1. Base coat entire letter white. Let dry.
2. Lightly sand edges.
3. Paint Sky Blue over entire surface of the letter. Let dry.
4. Lightly sand edges.
5. Using a cotton cloth or rag, wipe the surface down with antiquing medium,leaving on as much of the stain as you like.
6.Using the Black paint and the toothbrush, splatter the black paint onto the letter creating fly specks. Make sure the surface is completely dry.
7. Hang and enjoy!

    I sure would love the instructions on how you guys did this! I just bought these wood letters from Hobby Lobby to spell out my son’s name. His room is sorta “rustic” and this look would be perfect. Thanks for sharing!

    do you make the oversize letters?…I see that this is the blog for them…but I dont see anywhere i can purchase an oversize letter because hobby lobby doesnt have the letters i need!..thanks mary

      I would suggest you paint it using outdoor paint and then coat it with a outdoor sealer for best results! Send us a picture. We always love to see the finished product.
