I am ringing in the New Year with 31 Days of the most uniquely decorated wooden letters on the Internet.
When I set out to find 31 letters, I was instantly amazed by the variety and creativity. I found letters decorated with everything from simple paints and stains to recycled toys and lights to smashed beer caps and wine bottle cork. And, I am sure I haven’t seen it all. I can’t wait for more inspiration in 2014.

Make a dramatic statement this holiday season with unfinished wooden ornaments from unfinishedwoodco.com.
These ornaments were decoupaged and make a great alternative to the traditional door decor, especially when paired with a painted wooden monogram letter and bow.
This was inspired by Pottery Barn’s NOEL and the House of Hawthorn’s beautiful Zinc-like 25.
Materials:
Unfinished 18” NOEL from www.unfinishedwoodco.com $17.99
Paintbrushes
Black acrylic paint
Gray acrylic paint
Light Red Oxcide acrylic paint
Lipstick Red acrylic paint
Sandpaper
I began by coating the entire NOEL with black paint.
Then I let it dry and sanded it lightly. I took a brush and lightly dry brushed with gray and Light Red Oxcide (FolkArt). I let dry to the touch.
Finally, I heavily dry brushed with Lipstick Red (FolkArt). I sprayed with Acrylic Sealer to finish.
The entire project took me about 30 minutes. I am not sure I needed to dry brush with gray as it is not very visible in the finished project.
Here’s a project idea that pairs my love of Christmas candy with my love for decorating. It’s simple! Just use unfinishedwoodco’s JOY letters and stripe them like candy canes! All you need is some acrylic red and white paint and 1″ painters tape.
I love the different ways crafters are finishing their state cutouts. I have seen mod podge, paint, stain and even chalkboard paint. So fun!
These were created by JeffMcWilliams Designs with unfinished states from www.unfinishedwoodco.com.
I also love this one by http://adventuresincreating.blogspot.com created with old fences and pallet wood.
Here is a simple and elegant way to create a personalized holiday wreath. Just order a custom unfinished 15″ monogram from www.unfinishedwoodco.com. Then choose your favorite paint or stain finish to complement your decor. Finally, add your monogram to your wreath using wire. Your local craft store should have wire to match your paint or stain color. Hang and Enjoy! This would also make a great holiday gift.
The standing snowman is 20 inches tall. He’s the perfect size for your front door. Here we have a classic snowman with a burlap scarf and some buttons. Create a cute phrase and hang it across the front of him with some string.
